Client challenges

The client had recently changed its IP operating model towards being more business-driven. The two distributed legacy IPMS solutions did not meet the needs of the new organization, e.g. cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders outside the IP department. The existing distributed set-up was further flawed with incomplete data sets and poor portfolio visibility, leading to inefficient work-arounds for portfolio and case management.

Approach and Impact

The client engaged Konsert to lead the transformation to a new IP Management System, from detailing way of working internally and with external agents, to identification and assessment of system requirements, procurement of a vendor solution and implementation of chosen system.

Resulting in:

  • Avoiding unnecessary stress of key employees not having to take on transformation roles.
  • Minimizing implementation time by uniting the stakeholders towards a joint vision.
  • High level of satisfaction with the new workflows, enabled by the systematic approach to the client’s requirements all the way from req. identification to go-live.
