Leading through change is what we do

Therese's story

For most of my studies in Industrial Engineering and Management at Chalmers, I assumed I'd end up at one of the big management consultancies. Then I found Konsert: a small Gothenburg firm working close to what I'd studied, on how companies capture and control value from their R&D through IP, while also offering the chance to shape a company from the inside. Eleven years later, I'm still here.

I've grown the whole way, from Graduate Associate to Principal and the leadership team, and through all of it what's kept me here is the people. We're a genuinely unique team, pioneers at heart, with the curiosity to explore and the drive to break new ground.

"We're not here to watch AI change our industry. We're here to be the ones breaking new ground."

That instinct shapes my latest and largest role: leading our AI work. When ChatGPT launched in 2022 we moved quickly to understand what AI would mean for our industry, and in January 2024 I was asked to lead our internal AI team. As with many other challenges I’ve taken on during my Konsert years, this task has gradually grown into what it is today. It's the most demanding and exciting thing I've worked on. While it's clear AI will reshape our industry, the way to come out ahead isn't to watch and wait, but to act and lead.

You might not expect a firm of twenty-something people in Gothenburg to work with some of the world's largest companies. But we do. Our clients trust our judgement, which means what we build can help shape how IP is managed worldwide. Eleven years on, I'm as excited about what we build next as I was about my very first project.

We are the best in the world at what we do

Robin's story
One of the unique aspects of working at Konsert is that we are arguably the best in the world at what we do. Now, not everyone needs our services and there are many things we cannot do. But in our niche, no one does it better. When it comes to technology-based competitiveness – how to create and capture value from technology and data – we're unmatched.

"Being the leader in our field is one of the things that makes me proud of Konsert and why it’s fun to go to work (almost) every day"

With this expertise, we get to help people and businesses to address problems that are difficult and handle matters that are important. It is a great feeling when someone has a difficult problem or a challenging opportunity, and you can make a difference together with your team. The combination of being able to create positive impact and drive change for people, while also getting recognition for the expertise and the hard work put in is incredibly fulfilling. Being the leader in our field is one of the things that makes me proud of Konsert and why it’s fun to go to work (almost) every day.

I'm always learning and growing

Sam's story

I am a very curious person at heart, and I would argue that curiosity is part of the backbone of our culture. Whether it’s tackling a new client challenge or diving into a cutting-edge technology, we’re always keen to embrace new opportunities and learn something new.

"Learning is what makes my work exciting and fulfilling"

As long as I’m growing and learning new things, I know I’m in the right place. At Konsert, every project is an opportunity to step into the unknown, to solve problems I’ve never encountered before, and to gain skills I wouldn’t have learned anywhere else. To me, there’s no better way to grow than trying things out yourself, and Konsert offers no shortage of challenging and rewarding hands-on experiences.

On a personal level, if there’s a skill I want to improve, not only do I get the support that I need to pursue it but I’m also encouraged to share what I’ve learned with the team. This creates a momentum of growth and an optimistic "can do" attitude, where everyone’s unique contributions and perspectives add up to something greater. Here, the best idea always wins, no matter whom it comes from, which makes learning not just encouraged—it’s inevitable.

I believe it’s our curiosity that motivates us to explore and challenge the status quo, which in turn fuels the drive to change. Konsert is constantly evolving, just like the people who work here. There’s always something exciting going on, and it feels great to be part of a place with such a strong growth mindset, both for the company and its people. This is why I love my job.

I get to work with cutting-edge technologies

Rickard's story

At Konsert, I have gotten to work at the frontier of innovation across various industries and geographies—from medical breakthroughs to cutting-edge AI and IoT technologies. We help the customer capture the value of these cutting-edge technologies and navigate the change in the business landscape that follows radical innovation.

"Every project is a unique opportunity to learn and dive deeper into the technologies that shape the different industries that we work with"

In our collaborative environment, every project is a unique opportunity to learn and dive deeper into the technologies that shape the different industries that we work with, and helping customers to develop their business and realize the value from innovation is a key part of what makes Konsert a special place to work.

My background became an asset rather than a limitation

Fabian's story

My time at Konsert began as a nervous intern, not fully knowing what I had thrown myself into. Nerves soon turned into excitement, and I was quickly involved in both project work and internal initiatives. The internship left a strong desire to continue working at Konsert, which fortunately turned out to be mutual, and I started full-time after graduation.

"IP often lies at the heart of our projects, but the challenges we tackle are much broader, ranging from strategic problem-solving to creative application of data insights"

While my educational background in Data Science isn’t the most traditional at Konsert, the team helped me navigate the complexities of IP, breaking down intricate concepts and supporting me as I applied them in real situations and my background became an asset rather than a limitation. I soon discovered that while IP often lies at the heart of our projects, the challenges we tackle are much broader, ranging from strategic problem-solving to creative application of data insights.

Looking back to when I first walked in as an intern, it's clear how much I've learned, and with that, how much more I've been trusted with. I'm excited to see where that continues to take me.

The reason I choose to stay

Jonas' story

I joined Konsert as one of the original employees back in 2006. The prospect of being an integral part of building a new consulting operation in an emerging field of expertise was my initial draw. I wanted to learn as much as possible about how companies can build sustained competitive advantage through technology.

"Our commitment to continue learning and deepening the mastery of our domain has never wavered"

Reflecting on our journey, there have been many twists and turns to get where we are today. We commenced with an ambitious and talented but inexperienced team, and early successes came hand in hand with hard learning experiences. But through it all one thing has remained constant: our commitment to continue learning and deepening the mastery of our domain has never wavered. This remains true to this day, and it's one of the top reasons why I stay.

Director
