Emil Madsstuen is an Associate at Konsert Strategy & IP, specialising in strategy and IP valuation. He has experience supporting strategic decision-making, IP portfolio analysis and innovation management, with a focus on applying structured analysis to inform complex strategic and transactional questions.
Emil’s project experience spans strategy, valuation and due diligence engagements across multiple industries. He supported the development of an IP strategy for a leading autonomous driving company, mapping more than 6,000 patents across the autonomous mobility landscape and benchmarking the client’s portfolio against competitors to identify priority filing areas and licensing opportunities. He has also supported a private equity firm’s due diligence of an acquisition target through analysis of business trends, technology positioning and the competitive IP landscape, and developed a strategy framework for evaluating and prioritising new innovative businesses for one of the world’s largest forest industry companies.
On the valuation side, Emil assessed the value of background IP contributed by the parties to a European deep-tech joint venture with more than €500M invested, supporting negotiations on equity contributions and IP ownership terms. He has also valued the IP and licences of an innovative green-tech start-up and assessed the market value of an IoT platform provider’s proprietary software through analysis of market trends, financials and IP assets.
Emil holds a Master of Science in Management and Economics of Innovation and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Chalmers University of Technology.
