CIP Professional Services announced today, May 10, 2016 that it is changing its company name to Konsert Strategy & IP. The name change marks the next phase of the firm’s development as a thought leader in the intersection of business, technology and intellectual property (IP). The new name is announced in conjunction with the news that Konsert Strategy & IP is being fully spun out from Chalmers.
CIP Professional Services has since its inception in 2006 partnered with industry and public actors to deliver more than 250 projects. Started as the professional arm of the Center for Intellectual Property (CIP) at Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg, the firm is now being fully spun out from previous majority owner Chalmers Industriteknik. The change will mean increased focus on industry needs. It will also further clarify and strengthen the unique profile of the company, which combines strategy and performance improvement services at the intersection of business, technology and IP. “The new identity marks the next stage for our firm and is a reflection of both where we find ourselves as a business and where we want to go”, says Jens Bördin, CEO of Konsert Strategy & IP. “In recent years, we have seen how companies increasingly recognize IP as strategic business assets. In light of this development, we are looking to intensify our focus on helping our clients build and organize for technology- and IP-based competitiveness under the name Konsert Strategy & IP”, Bördin continues.
The new name is effective immediately, and will be implemented throughout the calendar year 2016.
